Question: How do you date an Atlas Mason jar?

When were Atlas canning jars made?

Authentic Atlas mason jars were made by Hazel-Atlas Glass from 1902 to 1964.

Where is the date on a Mason jar?

Some helpful notes to keep in mind:Not every jar has their manufacture date on the glass, but most have the patent date. There will be a large number on the bottom of your jar. These charts tell you the approximate decade in which your Ball jar was made.More items •Aug 16, 2021

Can I reuse Atlas Mason jars?

No. A coating is applied at the glass plant to reduce scratching and scuffing. If scratched, the jar becomes weaker at this point and can more easily break. This would increase the risk of the jar breaking when used for canning.
