Surround back is the term applied to the pair of rear surround speakers - as opposed to the pair of (side) surround speakers - in a 7.1-channel set-up. In a 5.1-channel set-up, theres only one pair of surrounds (and no rear surrounds).

Whats more important surround or surround back?
