Question: How do you read a squire serial number?

The serial number is on a sticker on the back of the neck, close to the attachment point with the body. Some more recent Squiers, including the Vintage Modified series (the serial numbers start here with SH), were in Introduced in 2007. The VM series has Crafted in India on the back of headstock.

How can you tell a Squire Strat?

Affinities will have Squier and Strat on the headstock in addition to the Affinity on the ball of the headstock. If you see Squier Strat on the headstock, nothing on the ball of the headstock, and the body is full width the guitar is probably a Squier SE.

What happened to Squier Standard Series?

According to Fender in 2019 they decided to stop making the Squier Standard Series as a Restructuring of their Models. They changed MIM Standard Stratocaster too the Player Series and added the Vintera Line and added other Models.

Is Squier not fender?

The main difference is in the price and the quality. The fender guitars are more expensive and tend to be of higher quality, whereas Squier guitars are made more cheaply and have lower quality. By this I dont mean that the Squier guitars are low quality and bad, but (usually) they are not so good as a Fender guitar.
