Conditions of Partner Visas The applicant of the partner visa must have a sponsorship from their de facto partner already residing in Australia. Both the applicant and the sponsor must be above the age of 18 years to apply for a partner visa. The sponsorship must be of minimum 2 years and not less than that.
Immediate family member A spouse or former spouse, de facto partner or former de facto partner, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of an employee, or a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of an employees spouse or de facto partner.
This would ordinarily include children, dependents, spouse/partner, immediate carer/guardians of Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents. It would NOT ordinarily include cousins, aunt/uncle and other non-immediate relatives of Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
